David graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2006 and then spent two years as a dental house surgeon at Christchurch Hospital. He has an interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery and completed an elective residency in this area during his second year at the hospital.

This has given him a lot of training and experience in the removal of difficult wisdom teeth as well as dental extractions in general. Whilst at the hospital in 2008, he sat the first part (primaries) of the Royal Australasian Collage of Dental Surgeons’ examinations. Since then, he has worked in a number of dental practices in Christchurch and Timaru.

David enjoys the variety of general dental practice and likes being able to provide a full range of dental treatments including cosmetic dentistry and the use of IV sedation. He is particularly experienced at dental extractions and wisdom tooth removals, including with dental IV sedation. His calm demeanor and level of experience makes him particularly suited to comfortable and stress free dental extractions and we happen to think this makes him one of the best dentists in Christchurch for wisdom tooth removals. He is also a technophile and spends a lot of time ensuring he is up to date with the latest technology and techniques for dentistry.

David is always more than happy to answer any questions about dentistry and is passionate about ensuring everyone has the best possible dental health.

Outside of dentistry David grew up in Christchurch, so knows the area well and although well aware of the challenges the city is going through, is looking forward to seeing the big changes and improvements over the next decade. He also enjoys getting outdoors and into the country. He is a keen skier, whitewater raft guide and tramper.
